She points her shaky finger at me. “It is on, Connor. It is so on. Watch your back, because I’m coming for the title.”
“It’s Cole,” I virtually bark. “And if anyone needs to watch their back, it’s you.”
“Ooo, awesome comeback.” She rolls her eyes. “See you around . . . Connor.”
And then she takes off toward Cindy’s house.
“I never should have walked you home,” I call out.
“Trust me, it was more unpleasant for me. By the way, you have hot chocolate on your upper lip.”
Then she slips into her house while I quickly wipe at my mouth, most likely falling for her trick.
Well . . . it’s official; she is enemy number one. This only makes me more determined to do everything in my power to make sure she doesn’t earn the Christmas Kringle crown.

Merry Christmas Meghan Quinn Style!
Another winner from Meghan Quinn! Her books are filled with all the witty banter, never disappoint. Not ever on the lookout for a Christmas story, this book was a must read and was well worth a Christmas story in October.
This story has a slight "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," vibe in the sense that at the beginning of every chapter there was a little rhyme that of course I read in the voice of the original Grinch narrator. Speaking of narrator, he sure was feisty, at times even arguing with our book boyfriend, Cole-hilarious!
Cole has lived his whole life in Kringle and the entire town celebrates Christmas year round. Everybody plays a part and the tourists as well as townies eat it up. Cole is a quiet man that goes to work and goes home. Not much of a social butterfly other than with his best friend Max who I absolutely loved. That’s another thing Meghan Quinn excels at, the best friend. Perfection. Cole is a proud man, one that loves his little town and all it represents, even if he doesn’t participate in the crazy festivities.
Storee finds herself back in Kringle after ten years away to help take care of her great Aunt Cindy. She used to love Kringle as well as spending the holidays with her aunt, however time and space have done a number on her and she’s happy in LA working from home and taking care of her plant. Her life is good, she’s content and dreads going back to Kringle because she knows he’s there.
Cole and Storee have a slight history, one that doesn’t sit well with him, so the minute he hears she’s entering the contest all bets are off. Cole has no idea why Storee is entering, just that she is, and he doesn’t think she deserves it. Let the games begin!
It’s one hilarious event after another with Storee and Cole. He’s trying his best to make her lose all while also trying not to fall for her. Storee has been gone a long time and doesn’t realize what Cole’s life has been like. While there are pages and pages of humor, there is also a sweet story that starts to come together.
The book is well written and a slow, slow burn. This was a loooooooong book that did feel slightly draggy at times, but I understood, there was a lot to upack with these two and what they were then to where they are now. If you are a fan of Meghan Quinn, you can only imagine the characters this book is full and if you’re not, welcome to her world. Not only do we have Cole and Storee, but we also have her sister Taran, the best friend Max, Great Aunt Cindy and the entire town to help create a wonderful Christmas tale.
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas reads as a standalone with a wonderful epilogue to peek in and see how everybody’s doing.
