Mia Shepherd thought everything was finally falling into place—great job, handsome boyfriend, and a new home in Connecticut. Sadly, just weeks after making her move, Mia’s life is turned upside down.
She’s pregnant, and her boyfriend wants nothing to do with her or their baby.
Brock Benson thought he met the woman of his dreams when Mia moved in next door to him. That is, until Mia introduces him to her boyfriend. With her being tied to another man—even one that’s not good enough for her—Brock keeps himself at a distance.
As the months tick by, it becomes clear Mia is pregnant. Brock is neighborly, stepping up to help when Mia needs it.
Then her ex returns, bringing trouble Mia does not need in her life.
That’s when Brock steps in. It might not be his burden to bear, but Brock has fallen hopelessly in love with Mia. And he’ll do anything for her and her baby.

MY REVIEW.
4 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Easy Romance.
While there is nothing easy per se about a man that wants to be involved with a woman that is carrying another man’s child, Brock and Mia sure made it look that way.
As her new neighbor, Brock was instantly smitten with the beautiful Mia. He finds himself not so smitten, however, when her boyfriend drops by for a visit. It becomes clear to Brock that a friendship is all that’s possible between them. But when he learns that Mia is pregnant and single, his perspective changes, and he decides to pursue a relationship with her.
I’ve never really been able to wrap my head around this storyline. Sure, Brock is undeniably a good guy—one of many out there—my initial reservations lingered. Nonetheless, his character stands out as a solid match for Mia. Although I wasn’t entirely sold with their dynamic as a couple, they each shone individually, even if their behavior seemed a bit immature for their age range of twenty-nine to thirty-three.
The book is well written, though I found the frequent use of each other’s names somewhat irritating. Their constant exchange of formalities—“Hi Brock, how are you?” followed by “Great, Mia, thanks for asking”—felt reminiscent of the repetitive “Good night, John Boy” from The Waltons, which, yes, dates me. Despite this small quirk, Burden to Bear is a charming, low-angst addition to the road trip series.

AUTHOR BIO.
A.K. EVANS is a contemporary romance author of over forty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.
Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!
When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.
