Excellent Story...Proceed With Caution.
In Toxic Obsession, J.A. Owenby takes readers on a dark, emotional ride and the blurb doesn’t even scratch the surface of Wynter and Quinn’s story. This review will be vague as to protect the story line.
The book is well written and heavy, with trigger warnings posted on the author’s website and I really recommend reading the warnings before going in. There are several subjects that may not be suitable for all. The characters are strong, fighters if you will. Both trying to overcome and figure out what happened in the past and make sense of it. So many secrets and lies were uncovered along the way and nothing I was expecting.
J.A. Owenby did a nice job with the curve balls keeping readers on their toes. Although I felt Quinn’s “proclivities” took away from the story and were unnecessary in my mind, Toxic Obsession is a heavy standalone read with a little epilogue.
