BLURB.

A grumpy bartender learns he’s a dad in Kelly Siskind’s latest Bower Boys romance full of second chances, small-town charm, and steamy, slow-burn heat.

For the last ten years, I’ve been living a lie in witness protection. But the drug cartel that put me there isn’t a threat anymore, so I can have my life back. I should be thrilled, right?

Wrong.

The last thing I want to do is go back home and show everyone how far I’ve fallen. I’m not the high-powered lawyer they all expect me to be. I’m just a guy who slings drinks and scowls at the world.

But then I hear about Max, my ex’s ten-year-old son. My ten-year-old son.

I have to go back now. Figure out how to be a dad. Face the love of my life. Make things right with Sadie and earn her trust. Will she have me—or is it too late to reinvent myself as the man she once loved?

MY REVIEW.

5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m Liking These Bower Boys!!

While I absolutely loved E’s book, 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover, Desmond’s book is just as good! He was introduced along with all of the Bower brothers the first time around, giving readers a little insight to the gruff exterior he presents. Now it’s time to really find out about Desmond.

We pick up right where we left Desmond, knowing he has a ten year old son that he’s never met. It was nice not going backwards for his story, only forward and making tons of progress with the next brother in line. Desmond has been lost for the last ten or eleven years and finally sees a path to follow in front of him. A path that includes his son and the former love of his life, Sadie.

So far, these Bower brothers have one thing in common, the women they had to leave behind are somewhat waiting for them when they finally return. Sadie wasn’t as harsh as E’s girl, however she did make Des work for it, which I liked. She’s done well for herself raising their son Max on her own. After leaving, she made it to their small howtown and Sadie is glad to welcome Des back into her life. If they can make it as a family is yet to be seen.

The storyline is super cute and shows Desmond in several different lights. All good. I could have done without some of his woe is me attitude, however it wasn’t enough to start skimming pages. If I did that, I would have missed the brilliance of Olivia, a ten year old in Desmond's hiking group that gives him a run for his money. She was so well written as a character that added humor to the heavy storyline when the other brothers weren’t around. Speaking of brothers, I absolutely love the banter between the five of them. Very funny and deep down very touching because for ten years they were everything to each other.

“I’m sensing a pattern with you.”
“Funny, I’m sensing you might get punched in the face”

Those lines are pure Desmond and his brother Lennon. Fantastic! The book reads well as a standalone, however E’s book is just as good and I recommend picking it up. Lennon is next and the girl he left behind doesn’t like him at all, she says, so it should be a fun read!!
