So there I was selling bikinis out of my truck in South Beach Miami, getting ready to kick off a wet t-shirt contest when the world’s biggest grouch approached me - Keller Fitzwilliam.

As a mega-fan of Meghan Quinn, I feel like I write the same review for every book of hers I read. There's something about her down to earth style of writing that I just love and Royally Not Ready was no exception. I was on board with the quick-witted and hilarious Lily instantly.
Lily lives in Miami pretty much alone. Her parents have both passed, so it's just her and her bestie Timmy Tuna working the bikini van on the beach. They hang, have fun and love life. While she misses having immediate family, Lily has made the most of it, never really wanting for more until he shows up to shake up her world.
Keller is on a mission, bring the Miami bikini girl back to his small hometown and see if he can make her a princess. Challenge accepted. Sure she's beautiful and has the sass of an entire army, but that's nothing for a professional right?? Keller instantly realizes he may be in over his head with this one and I couldn't wait to see what was in store for him as the training commenced. Well, for both of them actually.

Let the fireworks begin! Keller is in for a rough time with this princess in waiting because the girl doesn't possess a filter and it was hilarious. At every turn Lily had Keller blushing and wondering if this mission would ultimately end up impossible to accomplish.
"She's out future, and I'm the past. You need to keep moving forward."
Keller has a special background and a set of standards that has been burned into his brain since he was a child. As easy as it may sound, for a man with his upbringing to break protocol, may actually break the man.
The book is well written and of course hilarious. While I'm not necessarily a prude, I wasn't real keen when we got to sexy time. That said, it wasn't anything that took me away from the story. Along with Lily and Keller, there are friends, coworkers and a royal family constantly buzzing in the background. Royally Not Ready reads as a standalone with an epilogue to wrap things up.
