MY REVIEW.

3. 5 Stars from Tiffany!

Lots o Back and Forth...

Whew! I feel like I finished reading a tennis match instead of a romance with the back and forth L.A. Cotton gives us with Aaron and Poppy. While I knew this was going to be a long road, I didn't realize how wishy-washy this guy was.

Aaron and Poppy are pretty much best friends from an early age that have snuck over the line more times than once. She is also best friends with his sister, he plays ball for her dad and is thick as thieves with the rest of the crew. Parents and kids alike are completely involved when it comes to this series, which also makes it difficult for the kids when they decide to date.

I liked Aaron and liked Poppy, but together I wasn't sure about them. I was more of a Team Eli gal. He knew what he wanted and went for it, unlike Aaron. Poppy was a perfect match on paper for Aaron, as she was just as wishy-washy, although I did realize it was his mixed signals making her respond that way. So much back and forth, little kisses here and there to get her hopes up and then he yanks the football that is his love away from her time and time again.

While predictable, the book is well written and I think it was me, not the book. I had a hard time getting into it, as it felt super YA as I read. I did like to see what was up with the parents and other kids as the story moved along, however wasn't a huge fan of the Poppy and Aaron storyline. The book ends with a nice little epilogue and Sophie's story set up to be next.

MEET LA COTTON.

Author of over thirty mature young adult and new adult novels, LA COTTON is happiest writing the kind of books she loves to read: addictive stories full of teenage angst, tension, twists and turns.

Home is a small town in the middle of England where she currently juggles being a full-time writer with being a mother/referee to two little people. In her spare time (and when she’s not camped out in front of the laptop) you’ll most likely find LA immersed in a book, escaping the chaos that is life.
