They're faking it for the cameras. But what if the sparks are real?
Graydon St. John doesn't do drama―or public appearances. The brooding defensive end for the San Francisco Foghorns prefers silence, solitude, and avoiding headlines. But when a league-wide PR scandal forces him into a media stunt at the city zoo, he's suddenly face-to-face with squawking birds, nosy fans, and the zookeeper who seems to hate his guts on sight.
Maple Baker loves her flamingos. Loud, pink, messy? Sure. But they're hers. And the last thing she needs is a grumpy football player stomping into her sanctuary with a bad attitude and a bigger ego. Unfortunately, they've been paired for the zoo's new public outreach program, and the cameras are already rolling.
The banter is sharp. The tension is electric. And the more they pretend to play nice for the press, the more their fake flirtation starts to feel like something dangerously real.
But when family secrets, viral fame, and a PR romance gone off-script threaten everything Maple's worked for, Graydon must decide if he's willing to fight for love―or let it slip away to protect her.

MY REVIEW.
4.5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Anything to Save the Flamingos.
As a huuuuuuuge Meghan Quinn fan, I couldn’t wait to dive into Just for the Cameras, and Graydon and Maple definitely did not disappoint. I’m always here for witty banter, but honestly? It was the callbacks and character connections that really got me this time. Brilliant!!
Just like the blurb says, Maple is a sweet, unassuming zookeeper who agrees to fake date Graydon, a rude, emotionally unavailable player on the Foghorns football team. And yes, I do feel a little guilty describing him that way once you learn what his life actually looks like… but I’ll leave that for the next reader to discover.
Graydon is a lot. Like… a LOT lot. And Maple is the perfect personality to balance him out. She needs the money (and the attention) to help her flamingo exhibit at the zoo, so it’s game on with the grump.
We also meet two other athletes in similar “forced” arrangements: Bennett and OC. They aren’t nearly as broody as Graydon, which honestly makes them a great counterbalance to his terrible attitude. OC especially gave me major Jason Orson vibes and if you haven’t met Jason yet, go pick up The Lineup by Quinn. You won’t regret it.
OC starts a group text with Graydon and Bennett, and it goes about as well as you’d expect with Graydon involved… but those messages add some of the best humor in the book (in the best way). The group chat alone was worth it.
While the fake relationship setup is a bit predictable and you can definitely see certain parts of Graydon’s emotional journey coming, there's still a lot happening behind the scenes for both characters. I’m a sucker for the “gruff on the outside, secretly a teddy bear on the inside” type, so I was rooting for Graydon from the very beginning.
Overall, the book is well written, but it is pretty long, and it dragged a little in a few spots. That said, I really enjoyed Graydon and Maple’s story, all the callbacks, and the setup for OC and Bennett’s future books. Especially because I’m sure Graydon will be right there in the mix helping them out just like they helped him.
