Suckered Me In

In Her Royal Fling, Jodie Larson left us hanging with Luke and Gia and the whole Gala nightmare and we pick right where we left off. Luke ready to kill Reid and Gia ready to high tail it back to America. This review may contain spoilers for the fist book.

"Someone is lying to me. I don't appreciate being played like a puppet. Now I just need to figure out who."

This is the context of the whole book up until the very end. Luke trying to figure out exactly what is going on and who is behind it. Well, he knows who, but wants to find out the why and finally put this nonsense behind him.

All the while, Gia is the biggest pawn in this game. She's half way across the world, in a strange land, her only friends are the ones that are actually loyal to Luke. That said, they did a nice job at stepping up and helping with this whole royal plan thing.

The book is well written and the plan was a smidge too long for me. While I was interested in the whos and whys, it got real old real quick when Luke and Gia's precious time alone was pretty much spent in the sack. I had a problem with the insta-love in the first book and again with the fact that a smart girl like Gia, would uproot everything she knows and loves for a guy she just met. I finished this book with mixed feelings. I wanted to love it, however the problems from the past that trickled into this book held me back.
