Budding the 1800's adieu!
Well, it's been an interesting ride to go back to the past with Nina Rowan and her characters. It was a nice book break for me. It's now time to say goodbye to the series and Tasha's story was a great ending.
We met Tasha in the first book and even then then girl had some spunk to her. This time around she's full speed ahead with her plan with the ragged school, whether the ever-traveling James is by her side or not. She's loved him from afar for years, what's another few??
James is a world traveler for a reason...he's running from his past. With a not so stellar home life in his younger days, James finds it easier to roam the world and not have any ties to keep him in one place. While he's known Tasha since she was a girl, he never saw her as more until now. One kiss changed it all.
The book is well written and as with the others, there is a story brewing underneath the romance of Tasha and James to keep us on our toes. It was almost a shared story with Alice, which I didn't mind at all. Beautifully written, this series was a break from the norm for me and I was glad I gave it a shot. A Dream of Desire can be read as a standalone, but better within the series.
