“Where the hell do you think you’re going? It’s snowing out there.” It’s a blizzard. Colder than a witch’s tit. Blowing snow and below zero temps. The only thing I’ll never get used to in this city.
Victoria’s body tenses, which I don’t like at all, still, she’s going to answer my question. She has no choice. I won’t let her walk out the door looking like that. Fuck what Theo thinks or says when he gets here.
“No shit, Sherlock, this is New York. We get snow, and sometimes several feet all in a matter of hours. Maybe you should move south of the border. As far away from me as you can get.”
“Cute. Not going anywhere, Victoria. Neither are you.” I grin. Nothing turns me on more than her sassy mouth. Except maybe when the time comes where she says my name. “Now, answer my question.”
Slamming her hands against the counter, she whirls on me, enough to stumble me back a step. Her lips set in a thin line. Pure fire behind her stare, and goddamn if it doesn’t make me want to plant her on the counter, kiss her in a way that reminds her who she belongs to.
Instead, because I’m sure she’d bite my tongue off, I lean forward, grab her hips again, our mouths only inches apart. Her lids flutter, lips parting, and making me want to devour her.
“I don’t have to answer you, now back the fuck off.” She gets a free pass on swearing this one time. She might be slowly conceding to the dark side, but her soul and spirit are too flawless for trash talk.
Unless I’m balls deep inside her.

The story has secrets, pain, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well, and I was kept interested.

This is Victoria and Seth’s story. This story contains passion, suspense, edge of your seat danger.  This author pulled you in and keeps you turning the pages.  She creates a world you want to step right in and move around.  This couple takes you on a journey and introduces you to their own part of the world.  They pull in into the world so deep you just don’t want to escape.  Can’t wait to read more from this author and find out about all the others in this series.   

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Kathy Coopmans is back hotter, grittier, more intense than ever in her brand new, unforgettable series, a spin off from one of my very favorites from her, and oh my goodness y'all! All the suspense. All the feels. All of that chemistry they had and the heat that sizzled. That journey they told. Those complications they faced. The danger and rawness in so many moments. Ugh just everything.

Simply put, these TWO y'all. Seth and Victoria. Be still my heart. Just wait until all the introductions are made with them and into their world, The Diamond Empire. You are not going to be disappointed for a single moment- I'm talking breathless, edge of your seat, sweaty palms, and racing hearts kind of stuff here y'all.

This is going to be a world I never, ever want to leave.

You can never go wrong with a Kathy Coopmans book and gosh, she outdid herself with this one, giving me a top read of this year, I can just feel it. I adored, was super addicted to the Syndicate series.. world and this one is shaping up to be right up there with that. I can't wait for the next!

I highly recommend this book.
