And Beck Clermont controlled them all.

He was arrogant and conceited, and from the moment I met him, he had made up his mind about me.

Dangerously handsome and wickedly cruel, he had no intention of letting me spend my senior year under the radar.

The secrets of old money ran deep, and even though I barely knew them, the sins of my family had put a target on my back.

He was a hurricane, and I was unprepared for the storm.

His touch fatal. His impact irreparable.

There was no negotiation.

He stole my heart. Without warning, without permission.

MY REVIEW.

5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Annoyingly Good!

Annoying because I knew it was going to be one heck of and ending...and it was! Holly Renee takes her readers to one of those small towns that are owned by the rich. The people that think they can get away with anything and have no time for a girl that isn't one of theirs entering thier perfect, fake life. There is always tons of dark under the money and this story was no exception to that rule.
This review will be vague to protect the story line.

"She was the girl I would ruin"

Beck surly was a love to hate him kind of guy. He came off sweet, but he quickly showed his true colors and even then, you couldn't decide if you hated him. He was definitely a guy on a mission, however the war within himself was the real treat.

"I didn't care that Clermont Bay was thier kingdom. I refused to play by the rules of a few privileged boys who thought they ran everything."

She found herself smack dab in the hornets nest. There was all kinds of drama buzzing around Josie Vos and until she figures it out, she's going full steam ahead with Beck. All the while knowing that it would probably cost her her heart. Not knowing it was going to cost her so much more.

"Beck's attention was dangerous, but it was also thrilling."

Which is why it was hard to feel bad for Josie, she knew what she was getting with Beck, but couldn't stay away from him. I'll admit he was charming and said all the right things to make it even worse for a young woman out of her element.

"I was only here for one year, then I would walk away from it all."

If she only knew what was in store for her in this one year. Josie was well written for a seventeen year old. A bit naรฏve of course, but still able to hold her own. She was mesmerized by the beautiful Beck, but heck so was I after a while. The line she kept drawing in the sand moved with each chapter.

"I had known Beck was a bad idea from the beginning, and he was becoming more and more of a mistake the longer I got to know him."

The book is drama and angst packed from beginning to end. As a high school drama, it was written with a more mature vibe to keep it from getting creepy. Again, going into it, I knew we were going to be left with quite the cliffy, however I'm ok with that, as I really enjoyed the build up of this first book. Takes a bit of the sting away if you will. Beck and Josie are left exactly where we figured they would be, now it's time to figure this whole thing out.

"Beck was a risk I had been willing to take. He was a risk I knew would destroy me in the end, but I couldn't see that far ahead."
