CRAVING OBLIVION

Their love was like a song, full of body and the right notes…

Aya Aldringham ran away from Nash’s betrayal, but no matter how far she goes, she can’t outrun her feelings for him. The only way to survive is to shut down, erecting fences around her heart that are too tall to scale.

She puts on a mask for the world, but when trying to move on earns her an unexpected marriage proposal from a new man, Aya is left second-guessing her life choices. What does she really want, and how much longer can she deny who she desires?

Nash never recovered from the last night he spent with Aya, and the way she ghosted him proves everything he believes about love and how badly it sucks.

Drugs and alcohol numb the gaping, Aya-shaped hole in his heart, when playing to sold-out crowds no longer fills the void. Fame ripped her from his arms, but is he desperate enough to put his faith in an old enemy for a second chance? Because no matter how hard he tries to deny it…

While crowds might clamor for just one touch, one look…

He only wants hers.

MY REVIEW.

Emotional Roller Coaster Ride...

For me anyway. As in I wasn't sure if I even liked this book for the first few chapters. Then I reminded myself these two were pretty young dealing with heavy emotions. This review may spoil the first book on the series.

When we left Nash and Aya things were not good. Now eleven months later, we rejoin them as they live thier lives separately. They are both desperately trying not to become somebody they hate, yet that seems to be the path they are on. Nothing but destruction ahead for these two.

As clichΓ© as it is, with his broken heart Nash fell pretty quickly into the drinking and drugs of rock and roll life. Thinking it was way better to be numb than feel the pain from Aya this many months later. She's not any better. Aya is not happy with her father and has a sneaking suspicion he took her for his own gain. Not surprised there at all.

We start at eleven months later and keep jumping time, letting the chips fall where they may with these two. To me, it was time they needed to grow up and finally be able to discuss what happened with Lindsey in high school. The are constantly fawning over each other, however never really getting out what needs to be said. They are still two very different young people who are still very much in love.

The book is well written with lots o back and forth, which got a little tiring at times. They needed to, pardon my French, S or get off of the pot already because I started to zone out. The beginning was good, lackluster middle and then Alexa Padgett picked it up towards the end. Of course this isn't the end for these two, but a much better end than the first time around.

SULTRY OBLIVION

The boy she fell for was her superstar. Now, he's a rock legend.

Their love becomes a media circus.

Aya and Nash are amazing together, but the rest of the world isn't so happy with their relationship. The paparazzi hound them. Bloggers and fans tear the couple down. Even Nash's bandmates are sharpening their claws.

Every stolen moment together is a fight. Against jealousy. Against Aya's fear of the limelight. Against the world. Worse, her history with his fame threatens Nash's hard-won and tentative grasp on trust.

Their passion burns brighter than the strongest flame, but can it survive its time in the public eye?

SULTRY OBLIVION is book 3 in the angsty bestselling rockstar romance series OBLIVION. Start reading now—and fall in beat with Nash and Aya's heart-stealing romance!

More and More Drama

Boy oh boy is Alexa Padgett taking Nash and Aya on the drama ride of thier young lives. Not sure if these two will ever figure things out. This review may contain spoilers for book two.

"I wish we'd been older, more mature, better and expressing ourselves. That I'd given you the opportunity to explain, that I hadn't hurt you that day."

There it is, the crux of this young, volatile relationship. These two have been through hell and back and really have zero ways to communicate it. He likes to numb and she likes to run. There is something that keeps them together, if only they could move on from the past.

"That we had less dysfunctional childhoods. Less grief and loss and crazy backstabbing."

At first I felt Nash was the problem, however this time around I see clearly that it is both of them and honestly, they would be better apart. However, they insist on seeing this thing through, so we are along for the bumpy ride that is thier love story.

"I'd committed to him on one level, but not with my trust."

The Lindsey thing hangs heavy in Aya's mind, something she thinks about and brings up often. No matter how many times she hears that it wasn't Nash's fault, the anger and humiliation are still there. Something she's trying her best to work through.

"We had to firm our foundation, to grow so strong together that pettiness and lies wouldn't matter."

Preach it sister! The book is well written and pretty much about the above, these two kids learning to trust and move forward. Too bad there is yet another wrench thrown in thier plans. As the third book in the series, Sultry Oblivion offers up much more detail and again, we are left with some unfinished business.
