Murder Mystery Dejour...

Discovering "Bayou Venom" by J.J. Cagney was like stumbling upon a hidden gem in the world of murder mysteries. As a newcomer to Cagney's work, I found myself immersed in a meticulously crafted narrative that harked back to the classic whodunits. Despite the absence of any romantic entanglements, I found myself utterly engrossed in unraveling the identity of the culprit.

Cagney's writing style captivated me from the outset, with its rich detail and relentless pacing. Just when I thought I had cracked the case, the author deftly threw another curve ball my way, making me accuse another character in my mind.

From start to finish, "Bayou Venom" held me in its grip, its well-executed plot ensuring that I remained invested in the story until the final page. As the first installment in the O'Malley Family series, it sets a high bar for what's to come, and I’m keeping an eye out for what is coming up next.
