Olivia
Four years ago my entire life changed.
A one-night stand turned into the best thing that ever happened to me.
Too bad Mason didn’t feel the same.
Now struggling to keep my head above water, I take on a temp job at the same hotel that changed my life.
I never thought I would see him again, but then he walks in. They say lightning rarely strikes twice, so why do I feel like I’ve been struck once again?

Mason
Four years ago she disappeared into the wind without a trace to be found.
I never thought that I would want more from a woman until I met Olivia.
I only wish she had felt the same.
So when I see her standing behind the reception desk in my hotel, I’m amazed.
Only, she wants nothing to do with me and I can’t figure out why.
Can I break down her walls and get her to trust me enough to give us a real shot?

MY REVIEW.

4 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cute, Predictable Romance.

"Mr. Almost," the inaugural installment of the Kings of Boston Series, introduces us to Mason and Olivia. Mason, a formidable businessman, crosses paths with Olivia, who's striving to rebuild her life after a minor setback in her plans.

Mason and Olivia met on a dating site where he was looking for somebody to accompany him to a fancy dinner because he was tired of the rich trash his mother kept setting him up with. Olivia responded to the ad on the site and accompanied Mason to the dinner where they ended up hitting it off in more ways than one. Because the deal was for one night, Olivia never got his information and didn’t think anything about it until she really needed to. When she finally sees Mason again, nothing but miscommunications ensue, along with his persistent mother constantly butting it.

I like both Mason and Olivia’s characters, although slightly bland. Sure, he’s a big-time businessman with rich people problems, but they were boring problems that felt written over the top most of the time. I wasn’t too interested in that aspect of the storyline as compared to the whole “how are we going to make this work” storyline.

The book is well written, offering glimpses into the lives of Mason and Olivia's families and friends. With a touch of angst and sensuality, "Mr. Almost" maintains a steady pace, serving as a promising introduction to the Kings of Boston Series.
