[Release Blitz + Review] The One I Love by Chelle Sloan

The One I Love by Chelle Sloan is now live!

A Sexy, Friends to Lovers, Secret Relationship, Small-Town Romance by bestselling author Chelle Sloan.

BLURB.

I can’t remember a time when I haven’t loved my childhood best friend, Amelia.

Her big brown eyes and beautiful smile have had a hold on me since we were teenagers.

Hell, I even love her kids as if they were my own.

Now, she’s divorced, and after twenty years, it’s time to make my move.

The tension between us finally erupts and I kiss her.

Imagine my surprise when she doesn’t push me away but says she wants to give us a try.

Except she has one condition: We keep it a secret.

I’ll do anything for her, even this.

But I can’t help but want to shout to the world that the woman of my dreams is finally mine.

I inadvertently do it when her ex-husband rolls back into town.

A man I’ve hated since high school.

He riles me up and I blurt out Amelia and I are engaged.

We’re not.

Now, we have to pretend to plan a wedding while our meddling town watches.

I’ve waited over twenty years for my chance.

Will this cost me the one I love?

MY REVIEW.

5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book Three is Good…

...but I sure wish I would have realized this was a series before starting with the third book. What a gaggle of friends Chelle Sloan gives readers in the Rolling Hills series. We are focused on Shane and Amelia this time around.

The blurb says it all, Shane and Amelia have been friends since childhood, he leaves for the military after graduation, and she’s stuck in the little town married with a baby on the way. Fast forward seventeen years and they are both still pretending to be best friends, but he wants so much more. While the whole will-he-won’t-he ended pretty fast, it was the logistics of the relationship that made this storyline work. Along with Shane and Amelia, their tight best friend group includes Simon, Oliver, and Wes. They all grew up together and shared everything, except this huge secret between two of the best friends. There are also mothers, kids and really the whole damn town to add to this balancing act, making quite the funny read.

I liked Amelia and Shane separately and together. She’s older now, knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say it. It took some heartbreak to get her to this point, but in the end it’s worth it. Shane is a man in love and has been for years, which made him so sweet, but it was a sweetness he kept close to the vest, and it made me feel bad for him at times.

The book is well written, and I just loved how all the characters shared the spotlight with our main couple. As a fan of the small-town genre, I appreciated the inclusion and backstories I missed from the first two books, which I WILL be adding to the TB list. The only gripe I have would be the epilogue. While I’m glad it’s setting up Simon’s book, I would have liked to peek in on Shane and Amelia.
