MY REVIEW.

4.5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved it!!

What a cute and interesting story Lexi Blake gives readers with Start Us Up. While I wasn’t sure about the book for the first couple of chapters, it really grew on me.

Ivy has had a slight fall from tech start up grace that has her back at square one, living with her mother and trying to find work. She’s a slightly bitter gal if you can imagine and the fact that her ex was the reason she hit rock bottom with her company, doesn’t help her attitude one bit. Hanging with her besties from high school Harper and Anika at lunch, Harper sets Ivy to meet up with her friend Heath and help him with some coding he’s working on. Not in the mood, but she goes anyway (poor Heath), Ivy is instantly impressed with the guy’s code, and he isn’t bad to look at either.

Heath was such a sweetheart I almost felt bad he had feelings for Ivy. He was way too nice of a guy to put up with her constant woe is me crap. However, she’s the best in the business, he knows it and he needs her brain. They quickly realize they need (can use) each other, and a deal is struck.

“I know you feel like you’re cursed, but you are not Ivy Jensen. You are going through a rough patch, but the end of that dark tunnel is coming up fast. Don’t make a U-turn and stay in the dark.”

Ugh this guy, he was so dang sweet! The book is well written, and I have one little complaint, the insta-love, it’s something I’m not a big fan of. That said, the supporting characters make it that much better. Especially CeCe and Darnell, talk about bringing the humor an angsty storyline like this needed. As a bit of a techie, I appreciated the jargon and goings on of Ivy and Heath’s professions and the fantastic curve ball Lexi Blake throws in at the end. Start Us Up reads as a standalone and it looks like Ankia’s book will be up next.
