Assfit is more like it.
Xavier Thompson tore me to pieces ten years ago when he traded my love for a football dream. Granted, it worked out great for him. More than great, considering he's on every news outlet in the country and on the worship list of many.
For me, not so much. Despite the tattered mess he left me in, I fought to pull myself together. But after making a career-ending mistake, I'm hanging on to my job by a thread. A thin thread, which will snap if I turn down my next PR assignment: my cocky ex.
Since Xavier insists on doing stupid things on a daily basis, cleaning his image requires an extreme measure. A fake engagement. Now all he has to do is pretend, and all I have to do is try not to fall... again.
4 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute, Predictable Read.
In this installment of the Players and Sinners Club, we meet Xavier and Sara. Highschool sweethearts that were torn apart by different futures, reunited ten years later when he’s a football god and she’s not interested in the slightest.
Xavier was a complete douche bag for the better part of the book, which made him difficult to connect with. He was cocky and arrogant, written way over the top at times. This cocky a-hole finds himself in some trouble with his coach and the owner of the team after his latest immature screw up, so now he has to have a PR firm come in to clean up his image. Enter Sara, the PR person assigned to the worst job ever for her at the moment.
Sara was more likable, although the ten year grudge was a little much. Not really having a choice, she finds herself railroaded into a fake fiancee situation with Xavier and it’s pretty telling how the rest of the story goes.
While predictable, I thought the storyline of Xavier and Sara was cute. There was all kinds of past drama to move on from and future plans to hopefully make together. Kristy Gibs takes the story down to the wire with these two and gives readers a super cute ending.
