Who am I to Judge???

Marie James has brought together two of the most damaged people I have seen in a long time and made them some sort of a couple. Usually, you have a captive situation that blossoms in some creepy way, but nope, these two were broken when they met and learned to live with that brokenness. There wasn’t much fixing going on.

Lauren and Angel are a lot of crazy and they both know how to hold their own in tough situations. She thought she left him for dead years ago and yet here he is all up in her business once again. Although he isn’t the man she left, he’s wiser and dirtier now. She’s a thrill seeker to her own detriment and he’s a man that does a job and moves on to the next one. As a team, they could be fantastic, however that seems impossible.

The book is well written in a pretty dark vein. I’m not familiar with Marie James' work, however I like to take a trip to the dark side every now and then. The angst was high with us readers not knowing what in the world creates a woman like Lauren. Lessons Learned reads as a standalone.

Darker Than I Expected.

Marie James gives readers a dark new romance that was unexpected at nearly every turn yet captivating the entire book. James definitely stunned.. wow with this one.

Lessons Learned introduced readers to Lauren and Angel. Their mind-twisting story will pushed my limits with the intensity, darkness, and weighty features it had. This romance wasn’t sunshine and rainbows at any step.. and it never was ever.

If you are a fan of a Pepper Winters type romance then Lessons Learned is for you.

I recommend this book.




MEET MARIE JAMES.

Let's see...where to begin...

I'm inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.)

We have two boys we're doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master's degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there's usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I'm not writing; I'm reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I'm reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it's gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.
