ABOUT THE BOOK.
Hollywood screenwriter Sawyer Walsh knows a good love story when he sees it. But when it comes to real life romance, he’s a mess. That’s how he finds himself standing at the altar…as his ex-girlfriend ties the knot with his very famous best friend. The pressure, the resentment, the media coverage—it’s all too much—and before he knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s making a run for it, leaving a shocked congregation and flashing cameras in his wake.
Needing to lie low amid the media fallout, Sawyer lands in the charming town of Canoodle, California, where he crosses paths with Fallon Long, who runs the Canoodle Cove Cabins, a family-owned business and Sawyer’s new short-term residence. Overwhelmed with renovations and her long list of responsibilities, Fallon is struggling to make ends meet while attempting to bring the cabins back to their original glory. So when Sawyer arrives, she is grateful for the income, but immediately writes him off as just another vapid Hollywood hack, until he begins to prove her wrong at every turn.
As Fallon comes closer to saving the family business, an undeniable bond forms between her and the handsome screenwriter. But the pressures of her family obligations and Sawyer’s notoriety might prove to be too much for anyone to handle. Could Canoodle be the setting for a new romance—or is true love just a Hollywood cliché?

MY REVIEW.
5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Queen of the Callback!!
With every review of a Meghan Quinn book, I feel like a gushing school girl giving her heaps of praise, but I absolutelyloved this book!! As I always say, I am a super fan of her writing style and sense of humor and Runaway Groomsman was no exception.
While the blurb pretty much says it all, it was a treat to watch Sawyer unwind from his L.A. lifestyle and embrace the small town he’s found himself in. After “the incident” he needed a getaway and Canoodle Cove happened to be where the first bar he spotted was. It’s a small town with everybody all up in your business. Speaking of business, each little shop in the town had the best name! So corny, but funny and really fit the storyline.
Fallon runs the rental cabins in Canoodle Cove with her grandfather and is best friends with Jaz, who works at the bar Sawyer finds himself drowning his sorrows in. After an interesting night, Sawyer finds himself at the cabins and decides that this is where he will figure out his next step. Little did he know, this town and these people would suck him right into the slow-paced lifestyle.
Canoodle Cove was so full of life. They were a little family that welcomed this stranger with open arms. Sawyer started to relax, realizing helping Fallon restore her grandfather’s cabins is the exact break he needs.I loved how quickly he found his spot in the town, always wary of the best friend Jaz, who doesn't trust him as far as she can throw him.
The book is well written and so, so funny. I would call it a slow burn, which it needed to be with the backstory of each character. As a Meghan Quinn fan, I absolutely loved the call backs to her other books/series. Such cute ah ha moments while reading. Plus Sawyer described as a copy of Alexander Skarsgard didn’t hurt either.
