READ AN EXCERPT.
I step up to the table as Mr. Merman pulls out a chair for me. Over my shoulder, I see him check out my ass. The humid air has plastered my dress to my skin. With a wink, he pushes in my chair as I flop into the seat.
Men don’t wink at me. But it’s the second time Mr. Merman has, and surprisingly, each time I’ve liked it. Conscious of how close he is and how he lingers, I pull the napkin down to my lap as moisture pools between my legs. Men gazing at me with pure desire isn’t the norm. Most give me brotherly smiles. And as Clayton had so kindly pointed out on more than one occasion—I’m not a ten on anybody’s scale.
Mr. Merman frowns at the seat opposite me as if he doesn’t like the idea of being that far from me. The legs of the chair scrape over the brick pavers as he shifts slightly closer. “I see you got some sun today.”
“Is that all you saw?”
“Nope.” He arches an eyebrow. “Refresh my memory. You are allowed to ask questions, but I’m not?”
MY REVIEW.
3 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐⭐⭐
Insta on an Island...
Two for Dinner is set up like a sit com from the 80's. I know the blurb says a late 1990's movie, but the cheese factor was at an all time high for me.
A scheduling mishap on a private island brings Irene and Damien together and in my mind they were better apart. She is there to get over a cheating ex, while he's there to hide away from his billionaire world for a second.
I liked Irene's character and occupation, she was a woman brought up with money, but wanted to make it on her own as an adult and boy does she. Damien was just a flat out glue stick with not much personality and these two together were irritating as all get out. I'm not a huge fan of the nickname and more so when said nickname is used ad nauseum. Mr. Merman for example. That was used in the very first chapter and then over 45 more times until the end. It was small, but in my mind something I couldn't get over and it really soured the book for me.
Two for Dinner is a cute, sexy read that needs a good once over before publishing as I read an ARC of it. Again, Irene and Damien were great as individuals, however not as a couple in my opinion. The book reads as a standalone with a nice epilogue to tie things up.
