First Time Author for Me.
This is the first Natasha Madison book I’ve read, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. While Theo was a bit too good to be true, he was the perfect counterpart to Collins. This is a cute surprise pregnancy/opposites-attract romance.
Theo and Collins have a meet-cute when she gets a flat tire, which quickly spirals into a meet-and-sleep-together situation because that's just how Theo rolls. After a past heartbreak, he’s decided that no-strings-attached is the way to go.
I liked both of these characters right away, even with all the baggage they carried from their pasts. Collins had a tough upbringing and is fiercely self-sufficient because of it. She’s a paramedic who lives on her own and isn’t looking for a relationship. Because her parents caused so much trouble in the small town where she still lives, Collins has become somewhat of a pariah and mostly keeps to herself. Theo is staying in town to help with his cousin’s construction business. He’s the complete opposite of Collins friendly, outgoing, and the talk of the town, if you will.
While you can completely see where this story is heading, it felt like some things were either skipped over or needed to be fleshed out a bit more. There was more drama happening in the background than within the relationship itself. First, there was the situation with Sierra at the beginning. What in the world was that? It was never revealed who, what, or why. Then there’s Theo’s past. It’s never really explained why everything happened the way it did if he was such a nice guy.
The book is well written, and I might even consider it a cliffhanger with so many unanswered questions. I’m also not a huge fan of repeating lines from the previous chapter at the start of the next one. That said, I’m all in for book two so I can find out what in the heck happens with Theo, Collins, and all the surrounding drama.

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
