Send Help, I’m Not Over That Cliffhanger.
In Rushed, the second book in the Cooper Series, we pick up right where Book One left off, with Vee’s life completely flipped and the future of the Cooper legacy hanging by a thread. There’s no easing into it, we go straight into the chaos.
Both Vee and Fin are likable characters, and while Fin is her “rock” throughout the story, it’s especially satisfying to see Vee really come into her own. She’s still dealing with doubts and pressure, but you can see her growing stronger and more determined with every challenge thrown her way. It makes her feel real, not just tough for the sake of it. And then there’s Fin… he’s basically the perfect counterbalance to her storm. Calm, loyal, steady, he grounds her in a way that just works. Their chemistry? So good. The relationship development felt natural and was easily one of the highlights for me.
The book is well written and checks all the boxes: solid family drama, more behind-the-scenes business politics, and plenty of secrets coming to light. Add in the football elements—which, again, I totally understand now that I’m feeling a little more football-savvy (thank you, Brock Purdy 😉) and it makes the story even more fun.
It’s a quick, fast-paced read with an ending that will make you want throw your Kindle against the wall.
