ABOUT THE BOOK.
A FORMER IDOL. A FUTURE LEGEND. ONE RECKLESS DARE. 💕 🎶 🍒 From bestselling author Rowan Rossler comes My Cherry Duet—a friends-to-lovers rock star romance brimming with flirty heat, sexy riffs, rules destined to be broken, and a delicious slow burn that hits all the high notes.
Pick your favorite rumor about JC Trenton: flirty guitar god, teenage prodigy, the guy who imploded before hitting mega stardom. Truth is? He's all of them. And thirteen years after vanishing from the spotlight, JC remains rock & roll's sexiest enigma.
I'm Gia Barlow—a spitfire singer with a five-year plan to rule the charts. Six months ago, my guitarist bailed, and I persuaded JC to join my band. Temporary and totally professional. Simple, right?
Except now I’m falling hard for the man and his music.
JC wrote a new song I’m desperate to record, but he won't give it up. So I dare him: whoever taps out first on our European tour loses. If I cave? He keeps the song. If he breaks? It's mine.
Trouble is, all I want is for both of us to lose.
But somewhere between the riffs and our high-voltage chemistry, neither of us wrote the encore that's about to change everything.
My Cherry Duet is a full-length, rockstar romance starring two sonic soulmates. Expect banter, steam, and beautifully messy characters searching for perfect harmony. While this happily ever after stands alone, it takes on new depth when you read My Grape Crush.

MY REVIEW.
4.5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
He’s Aged Like a Fine Wine.
This is the second book in the My Cherry duet and the only one I’ve read, but it still worked really well as a standalone. This time around, the story follows Gia and JC. She’s newer to the music scene, still figuring things out, while JC is very much a “been there, done that” kind of guy who unexpectedly finds himself stepping into her band.
Gia is about to head out on a European tour, but as a twenty-year-old still living at home, her mom isn’t exactly thrilled about the idea of her going off into the rock world alone. So naturally, she insists on a little “babysitting.” Enter JC the perfect candidate, especially since he just so happened to be the one who brought Gia home the night before after she had a bit too much fun. The setup is honestly pretty entertaining and sets the tone for their dynamic right away.
I liked both characters overall. JC brings this grounded, experienced energy, while Gia has a lot of spunk and personality. That said, her spunk did cross into irritating territory for me at times. Yes, she’s only twenty, but if she wants to be taken seriously in an adult world, she needs to act like it. There were definitely moments where I found myself wishing she’d mature a bit faster. Meanwhile, JC really leans into that “babysitter” role more than once, which adds an interesting (and sometimes frustrating) layer to their relationship. I kept hoping to see more growth from Gia as the story went on.
JC, on the other hand, is much more reserved and cautious. He’s seen the darker side of the industry and carries that with him, which makes him more guarded, especially with the thirteen-year age gap between them. You can feel that push and pull between wanting to protect both himself and Gia while also being drawn to her.
Once the tour starts, the story really finds its stride. The pacing picks up, and from there it keeps moving steadily all the way to the end. While there were some slower, slightly repetitive moments earlier on (I definitely skimmed here and there), the overall writing was solid. I also really enjoyed the added perspective and commentary from Gia’s band mates and family, they brought some fun and depth to the story.
The book is well written and while It has its slower spots, the character dynamics and the touring story line kept me invested. Even without reading the first book, My Cherry wraps up nicely and feels complete on its own.
