Firepower, maneuver, intelligence, logistics, communication.
It was practically a code I lived by.
After serving for years under Rafe, it was highly unlikely I’d change a damn thing about that code. He’d ingrained every ounce of that mentality into my head, and that was after the military did it first.
But now he was dead, and the one person I’d always pushed away was the only person I couldn’t keep off my mind. So, I went to her, willing to risk it all to see if she’d have me.
But I was too late.
All those dreams went out the window in a flash, leaving me with the one secret she’d managed to keep from me all these years.
And that secret came in the form of a small, adorable girl.
I knew absolutely nothing about being a father, but this was one mission I wouldn’t fail at, no matter what life threw at me. She was the one pure part of my world that no harm could come to.
But along with Rafe’s death came a promise that I couldn’t shake.
Look after his sister.
Isabelle was beyond messed up after being kidnapped and trapped on an island for the better part of thirteen years. Lord only knew the hell she suffered, but I made a promise, and there was no way in hell I would let him or anyone else down.
I didn’t expect to feel this protective of Isabelle. I didn’t think I’d care about her mental state or if she was happy. But I do, and now it’s my mission to make sure both Isabelle and my daughter are happy and safe.
And in my world, there is no option for failure.

My phone rang again and I sighed, this time answering it, knowing he wouldn’t stop until I picked up. “What do you want?”
“Tahlia wants to know how long you’re staying in Minnesota,” Johnny rumbled, not sounding very thrilled that he was stuck in the middle of this conversation.
“Who said I was going to Minnesota?”
“You’ve been too fucking distracted for days. I saw you checking flights earlier, and when you couldn’t get a direct flight, you tossed a chair across the room.”
Fuck, I was really losing it if I didn’t see him there.
“It’s about fucking time you got your head out of your ass,” he grumbled.
“I never fucking said I was going to her.”
“Just don’t take too fucking long. Tahlia hasn’t seen her in years. She’s fucking pissed I haven’t let her go to Minnesota on her own.”
“Sounds like a you problem.”
“Yeah, well, I wouldn’t have this problem if you had gotten off your ass and taken care of shit.”
When Tahlia was in trouble and we went on the run with Johnny, watching his ass and keeping his woman safe, Leah was nothing more than a complication. That’s what I kept telling myself. Then I made the mistake of allowing her to walk into my room. The moment she pulled her shirt over her head, every single thought in my head disappeared. I knew I was fucked, but I resisted her to the point of pain.
But I couldn’t fool Jack and Johnny. They knew I held a torch for her. They saw the way I treated women, how they were nothing more than a distraction from the one woman I really wanted. Thankfully, they didn’t say jack shit about it.
“Just get your ass back here as fast as possible. If I have to hear one more fucking time about how long it took you to get her, I’ll fucking kill you.”
“You could just tell her to mind her own business,” I argued.
“Yeah, tell me how that works with Leah.”

This is Isabella and Jason’s story. She was kidnapped and tortured for years. Jason is her protector. When Jason finds out he has a daughter he is stunned and determined to help his daughter. This story is full of crazy emotions. You get plenty of suspense that you are used to with this author’s stories but also see a bunch of faces from the past. Can these strong alpha men really protect all the woman that they love and have built future’s with? Or is someone out to take them all down?
I recommend this book.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
