Troubling, Yet Sweet Romance.

As my first read by this author, the novel beautifully explores the theme of unexpected connections and personal growth. At its heart, it’s about two individuals who discover they have more in common than they initially realized. The story unfolds as they help each other navigate their challenges, ultimately finding that they are also helping themselves in the process, often without even recognizing it.

Josh, a dedicated pianist, is portrayed with a deep passion for his craft. His life revolves around his music, and perfection at the piano is not just a goal but an identity. His world is turned upside down when his young daughter, Sophia, comes to stay with him for the summer. Sophia’s presence introduces a whirlwind of change, shaking up Josh’s meticulously ordered life. Josh is t his wits end learning how to communicate with his daughter, but also another debilitating curve ball dealt to him.

Maya, in search of employment, unexpectedly becomes Sophia’s nanny. What starts as a practical job soon turns into something far more significant. Maya finds herself forming a deep bond with Sophia and grappling with her feelings for Josh, whose initial stubbornness gradually reveals a more vulnerable side.

I liked both Maya and Josh, however they both posessed a few quirks that made me a little crazy...quirks I overlooked because in the end these two crazy kids were good for each other.

The book is well written and while not much angst or steam, it kept me turning the pages. It’s a story about finding love and connection in unexpected places and the ways in which helping others can lead to personal transformation. The Dreams we Share reads as a standalone with an epilogue to wrap things up and a parlay into the next book in the series.
