In "Lies About Forever," readers delve into the lives of Ameline and Gabe, two young individuals grappling with a plethora of personal struggles and emotional baggage.

Navigating their early twenties proves to be a tumultuous journey for both Ameline and Gabe. While Gabe appears to have a more stable home life compared to Ameline, he finds himself haunted by unresolved issues from his past, hindering his ability to move forward.

Initially, I found it challenging to connect with these characters, and unfortunately, that sentiment didn't evolve as I progressed through the book. While I typically enjoy the inclusion of texts and emails in a narrative, in this case, they felt lackluster, lacking the spark of witty banter and instead contributing to a sense of monotony.

Despite the clear premise outlined in the blurb, numerous obstacles are thrown in the path of this young couple, prompting contemplation on whether their struggles are ultimately worth enduring. Surrounding Ameline and Gabe are a supporting cast of friends and family members who add depth to the storyline.

While the book boasts solid writing, its pacing felt slightly sluggish to me, and I found myself yearning for a greater sense of emotional intensity. The story culminates in a significant cliffhanger, leaving readers eagerly anticipating what lies ahead for Gabe and Ameline.
