MY REVIEW.

3 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️

In Forgive me for My Sins, Angel Anders introduces readers to Father Lachlan O’Connell and Avery, the married socialite who needs to get out of said marriage.

The blurb says it all, Avery’s husband is a cheat (and more) and she knows she needs to leave him ASAP. As an upstanding member of her community, it isn’t going to be easy, as optics are everything. Avery has what she needs to get out of the marriage unscathed, however there’s more to her soon to be ex that meets the eye. Speaking of eye, while in church one Sunday, Avery notices the handsome new priest definitely has his eyes on her.

So I wasn’t a fan of either of these characters, or the warp speed in which they connect. I didn’t feel any connection between them. They went on and on about the “taboo” aspect of what they were going to do, which made it more mechanical than anything. There was too much “in their head” dialogue for me and not enough actual communication between them. At one point I decided I was more interested in the baggage from his past and what her ex-husband was up to. The rest I could have done without.

The book read a little clunky/formal to me. Avery and Lachlan constantly using each other's name in a casual conversation or god forbid, his nickname for her. I’m not a fan of insta-love or nicknames and found myself skimming to the reveals. The book reads as a stand alone with an epilogue to wrap things up.
