Something like Hate by Piper Rayne is NOW LIVE!!
BLURB.
I love him.
I loathe him.
It’s like plucking daisy petals in my head, but he’ll never know.
When Miles Cavanaugh, the best safety in the league, was traded to the Chicago Grizzlies football team last year, I could finally breathe. Temptation was miles away.
How naΓ―ve to think it would end there because when the opportunity to write for a national magazine based in Chicago lands in my lap months later, I can’t turn it down. Sure, it’s a big city, but the sexual energy feels like a beacon between us the minute my plane lands.
To make matters worse, I end up having to take over the job of reporting exclusively on the Chicago Grizzlies. Which means traveling with the team, interviewing players, and pretty much having an all-access pass to their lives during the season.
Miles and I put up a great front, quickly hating on one another, but we both know it’s a lie. We also know the rules are simple. For me, don’t sleep with the subject of your articles. For him, don’t sleep with the journalist who can make or break your career.
I thought straight-laced Miles Cavanaugh followed all the rules… oh how wrong I was.

MY REVIEW.
4 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I Loved Him!!
In the first book of the Chicago Grizzlies football series, we are introduced to Miles and Bryce. He is the new guy on the team and she’s the new reporter for the team. Too bad they already know each other…intimately.
Two years ago, they had instant chemistry, acted upon it and then she ran. Fast forward to now where Miles and Bryce find themselves face to face once again. They wish they could say the feelings have faded, but that would be a lie. I loved Miles’s character. He was a football star that has taken a few hits to his ego along with his body on the field. He’s always been a “good guy” not partaking in cleat chasers and what not. He longs to have a family and seems like the sweetest person all the way around. Bryce on the other hand, comes off as a spoiled, selfish only child. I’m pretty sure she’s heading towards thirty years old and still acts like she is sixteen. I didn’t find her a good fit with his personality.
Miles and Bryce are constantly eye effing each other wherever they are together, with friends or at the sports complex, so their attraction is only a secret to them. Of course, there is all kinds of miscommunication thrown in the mix in the small spouts where Bryce isn’t acting like a brat.
The book is well written and predictable as all get out, but I enjoyed the ride. We get a little angst towards the end, which is cleared up quickly. I usually like a little more angst in my reads, however, didn’t want that for Miles, as he had enough to deal with. Along with our main characters, there are a few of the Kingsmen crew mentioned or present for this storyline. Something Like Hate reads well as a standalone with a little epilogue and parlay into the next book of the series.
