AUTHOR: Jessica Prince
SERIES: Redemption
GENRE/TROPES: Contemporary Romance, Small Town Romance, Romantic Suspense, Man In Uniform
He was the town’s golden boy, their all-American hero. But there was a side of him he’d only shown her.
When Lyric Jackson stopped for gas in Redemption, Tennessee, she wasn’t sure what to think of the small town nestled in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. Then she got one look at Holton Clarke, saw that charming smile, and fell instantly. One night with the man in uniform sparked an ember of hope, but things didn’t quite end how she’d expected.
All Holton Clarke ever wanted to do was protect the people he cares about. He thought he’d be able to do that better as a deputy for his hometown, but one call turned his whole world and everything he thought he knew upside down. Including what he’d hoped for his future with a certain sassy librarian.
But when danger from Lyric’s past comes calling, Holton has to put his fears and insecurities to the side in order to save the woman who has gotten under his skin, but she refuses to make it easy, or give him a second chance. Now she’s under his roof, sharing his bed, and throwing him attitude and dirty looks every chance she gets.
She might claim that nothing is ever going to happen between them, but that one night they’d shared was his favorite mistake ever, and he has every intention of repeating it for the rest of his life.
**The Redemption series is a series of interconnected, standalone, small town romances.**

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first.
Bad Alibi (Redemption Book 1)
Crazy Beautiful (Redemption #2)
Bittersweet (Redemption #3)
Guilty Pleasure (Redemption #4)
Wallflower (Redemption #5)
Blurred Lines (Redemption #6)
Slow Burn (Redemption #7)
This is Lyric and Holton’s story. Lyric is sort of new to the town and has a few friends, but she keeps a lot of her past to herself. She has gone through loss and pain and is not always up to discussing all of that. When she has one night with Holton, she thinks it is the start of something new but he called it a mistake. She knows when she is not wanted and makes a point to not be too friendly after that. But he knew as soon as he said it was a mistake that he made the mistake. Now he wants her to look at him and treat him like she used to. When she is put in danger, he makes his move and helps her out. But will it bring them closer, or will she run from the danger and him? DO they have a future or will her past make sure that they don’t?
I highly recommend this book.

Jessica Prince is back baby.. with the next book in her infamous and addicting Redemption series and this series right here is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I adore Jessica and have been a fan for years and this book might just be a new top read of hers of mine (did that make sense? π).
Favorite Mistake is the next up in the line up in Redemption and this go round we have Lyric and Holton’s story and this right here is an absolute must read. Packed cover to cover with heart, heat, suspense, swoon, second chances, and allllllll of the feels.. these two tugged at my heart and had me on the sidelines rooting by the end.
This series. This author. This world. These AAAAAAMAZING characters. Jessica is a freaking brilliant writer and y'all, I really hope she never stops and expands these worlds (Hope Town too!) to the absolute max.
I can't recommend this author and series enough y'all.
Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
