I was pulled right into this story. This story contains heartbreak, secrets, danger, and suspense.

If you have not already, I recommend reading the below before this one:
The Rookie (The Intelligence Unit, #1)
The Guardian (The Intelligence Unit #2)
The Grifter (The Intelligence Unit #3)
The Rogue (The Intelligence Unit, #4)

This is Carmen and Liam‘s story. Carmen is an informant who also happens to be a nurse. Liam is a detective and working with Carmen. She gets under his skin but he knows he needs her. He manages to keep his distance while also helping her. But when the danger gets worst they must work closely together. They go undercover but will that keep them from touching? Will he be able to protect her the way he should? Or will all the distance they were keep end up disappearing and pulling them even closer together? Will the danger take them out or will they be able to overcome the danger?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.
