Sports Romance and More!
In Tight Ends & Tiaras, Lex Martin gives her readers what seems like a nice addition to the Varsity Dads series, seeing how I missed the first book. This is the story of Sienna and Ben and of course little Lily.
From what I gathered, Ben and Sienna knew each other before and this time the full focus will be on them and how they are going to fit a fake romance and two year old in their lives. Ben is in college, on the football team and still rattled from his tragic past. He lost his parents at a young age and wasn't close to his sister until recently. To say he's emotionally unstable is putting it mildly, add a unexpected kid to the mix and Ben is an emotional mess.
Sienna was great. I loved the way she was written. With an unfavorable upbringing of her own that she's still currently dealing with, she's the complete opposite attitude of Ben. This girls glass is half full and she's exactly what Ben needs in his life.
The premise is Ben and his daughter moving in with Sienna so it's easier to take care of and what happens is straight out of thirty minute sitcom. We navigate this new situation and it is plain as day what is going to happen with these two. The fun (I say sarcastically) is how in the world are they going to work out with all the drama surrounding them?? Ben with his baby mama drama and Sienna with her ex plus more drama. Yikes! I absolutely love a storyline where there is a constant wait for the other shoe to drop and this is exactly what Lex Martin sets up, several times.
The book is well written and I liked how shy Ben was actually pretty sexy when it comes right down to it. Along with our main characters, we have some guys from the football team, as well as family members from both sides to move the story along. Tight Ends & Tiaras reads as as standalone, however made it seem like I was missing out a little by not reading the first one. Adding it to the TBR now!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, laughs, naughty fun, and heartbreak.

This is Sienna and Ben's story. Ben's life is super messy and it just got even more so when he gets a 2 year old. Lily is the little girl he never knew he needed. Sienna is his sisters friend that offers them a place to stay. Sparks fly. Can these two help this baby and heal each other? Or could this be such more for the both of them?
I highly recommend this book.
