[Blog Tour + Review] Killer Instinct by Tawna Fenske

KILLER INSTINCTS, an all new opposites attract romantic comedy, filled with twists and turns from USA Today bestselling author Tawna Fenske, is NOW LIVE!!

ABOUT THE BOOK.

Dante didn’t set out to deceive. His favor for a pal in prison got him this farmhand job, and Jen needs help guarding more than her blueberries. Someone’s set on hurting her, and he’ll make damn sure they don’t. She can’t know who sent him or why he’s handier with a handgun than a hoe. But none of that matters more than keeping Jen safe.

To save the girl, he’ll have to pair old skills with new. A princess tea party and an old-fashioned gunfight? Why not. Grape stomping and grenades? Sign him up.

But as the enemy closes in, there’s one skill Dante finds he doesn’t have: The strength to walk away when the job is done.

MY REVIEW.

5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great First Book!

As my first read from Tawna Fenske, I wasn't sure what to expect from Killer Instincts. What I did find was some solid writing and a storyline that hooked me from the first chapter. We meet Jen and Dante just as they are meeting each other under strange curcumstances. There's nothing like a book with secrets waiting to spill out page after page.

Dante is doing his buddy a favor and little did he know this favor would change his life in ways he never imagined. He is a man in a dangerous profession and this little sabbatical on a winery/farm is exactly what he needs at the moment. I liked Dante, he wad dark, but not an evil dark, it was more of his past made him that way dark, which made him more loveable.

Jen was also an insta-favorite for me, as she was a no-nonsense kind of gal that could get things done herself. She wasn't a girly girl, but didn't mind if her new farm hand saw her as one. Jen is also shaped by her past, most recently an a-hole of an ex-fiancée.

While Jen and Dante get to know each other and Dante tries to keep his secret, there is a bit of a mystery brewing in the background to add to thier story. Tawna Fenske did a great job at balancing the romance and the who done it, while keeping the angst pretty high. It was bound to come to a head sooner or later, I could only hope Dante was left standing when it was all said and done.

The book is well written with light humor to help a serious storyline along. This is Dante and Jen's story, however they have a nice supporting cast around them. It's the first book in the series and sets the second one up nicely.
