Speechless.

This is my first go round with Rina Kent and all I've really got to say is that was one hell of an introduction to her writing, her style and her characters. Y'all I'm just... wow. Speechless. What a book. What a journey. Just wow.

Empire of Desire is the first in the Empire series and I cannot freaking wait for the next one y'all already and I can see a reread happening again... soon. This book was crazy good, darker than my normal taste but with all the hype around this author, I couldn't miss out on the start to a new series and to test her out.

Age Gap. Dad's best friend. Marriage of convenience. Forbidden romance. I mean JUST LOOK at all those tropes she incorporated into this beauty? Y'all. It was everything! And just wait until you meet Gwyneth and Nathaniel and this cast. Stunning. Unforgettable.

Empire of Desire was explosive, complicated, intense, dangerous, steamy af, taboo, angsty, and packed to the brims with ALL the feels. Nothing like I expected yet it was in every moment.

I can't wait for the next in this series.

I highly recommend this book.
