The absolute audacity.
But people do crazy things when they’re desperate. And I reeked of desperation. So, I struck up a deal.
My one big mistake, though . . . big . . . HUGE? I accidentally fell for the incomparable Huxley Cane.

Yes, I start every Meghan Quinn review with how much I enjoy her books and by golly I'm going to do it again. In Not so Meet Cute, we are charmed by the wealthy Huxley Cain and the hilarious Lottie. This author has quickly become one of my favorites.
I liked these two instantly. Him because you could see underneath all of that a-hole exterior, there was a good guy and her because she was the carefree spirit to bring it out in him. Sure she was at the lowest point in her life the moment they met, however he wasn't fairing any better, so it was perfect. They agree to fake it till they make it or until all hell breaks loose.
The charm in this story was the opposites attract aspect. Huxley has never dealt with a woman as outspoken and who could really go with the flow. She was the perfect fake fiancΓ©e, until she wasn't. The ups and downs with these two were nothing but side splitting and the falling for each other highly predictable, but it was the rest of the story that kept me reading.
"This is exactly why I didn't want to get involved. Why I knew crossing that line with her would be a bad idea, because she's too consuming."
No so Meet Cute is well written in that famous like you are there Meghan Quinn style. She writes as if the readers are part of the story and I love that. Oh and the call back to Chicago Bobbies...brilliant! Along with Huxley and Lottie, we are heavily involved with her sister Kelsey and his brothers JP and Breaker. The book reads as a stand alone with a nice little epilogue.
