The lovely Lydia Kellaway can solve the most complex puzzles. The one challenge she can’t top? Managing the most infuriating man she’s ever met.
Alexander Hall, Viscount Northwood, has purchased a one-of-a-kind locket from a pawnshop, unaware of the priceless sentiment it holds for Lydia. If he were a gentleman, he would simply return it to her. But Alexander is curious to see just how bold this brilliant beauty will be.
What began as a playful wager quickly escalates. As their sizzling attraction grows, even Lydia can’t account for the feelings Alexander arouses in her with his smile or the fire he ignites with his touch. But when a dark family secret is suddenly thrown into the equation, it just might divide them forever.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
A Slow Burn...
Nina Lane gives her readers a nice slow burn of a historical romance with A Study in Seduction. I enjoy going back in time every now and again and with her beautiful writing style, it's that much better.
We meet Lydia and Alexander, an opposites attract couple if you will. They meet by chance and instantly dislike each other, which made for quite a chase throughout the book. Lydia is a brilliant woman, however in these times, that isn't appreciated and with Lydia's past, it's something she practices almost secretly. Alexander is a man that also has a past, one he is trying to rectify, however quickly veers of course when he meets the always calculating Lydia.
I liked both Lydia and Alexander, they were wonderfully written and even though very different, a perfect match for each other. Lydia's focus was math, something in which I never excelled, so I did find the math equations a bit much for my reading. She equated math problems with any type of problem in her life-the only way she could see them logically. That said, I did enjoy the back and forth with these two characters.
The book is well written with quite the backstory that includes various family members from both Lydia and Alexander's family. Again, the book is a slow burn with some math speed bumps for me, but really picked up towards the end and I am definitely going straight into the next book of the series!
