Eleanor & Grey, an all-new beautiful and emotional standalone from Brittainy C. Cherry is available now!
SYNOPSIS:
Greyson East left his mark on me.
As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near.
Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again.
When my wish came true, it was nothing like I imagined.
I couldn’t have known when I took the nanny position that it would be his children I looked after, that my new boss would be that boy I used to know, that boy who was now a man—a cold, lonely, detached man.
The smile and laugh I had loved so much were gone, now distant memories. Every part of him was covered in a fresh pain.
When he realized who I was, he made me promise to do my job and my job only.
He made me promise not to try to get to know him, not to recall the memories I’d treasured all this time.
But, sometimes, I saw the boy I’d once known in his stormy eyes. I saw the Greyson who smiled and laughed, who had stolen a young girl’s heart, and there was no doubt in my mind that this boy was worth fighting for.
I was given a second chance with the one who’d left his mark on me. All I hoped was that somehow I’d leave a mark on his soul, too.

MY REVIEW:
4.5 Stars from Tiffany!
⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was Meant to Be
As a Brittainy C. Cherry fan, I pretty much knew what I was getting into when selecting this book for review. Heartache. The emotional storm before the calm if you will. That's one thing about this girl’s writing style, she puts her readers (and characters) through the ringer to get to that ending we’re hoping for. Greyson and Eleanor were no exception. This review will be vague as to protect the story line.
Eleanor was written as a godsent. She didn't have the perfect childhood to make her so in tune with her emotions and those around her, however she did have the perfect mother for it. She was a soft, yet strong character. Push her too far and she will push back.
Greyson was enamored from afar with Eleanor from the get-go. As teenagers, she was the girl that didn't care what others thought of her and she marched to the beat of her own drum. He on the other hand, was projecting an image that everybody else wanted of him, not who he really was. The only person to see the real him, was her.
"I just wanted you to know I see you, you know, the you that the rest of the world doesn't see."
They just fit, until life got in the way and they didn't anymore. Both Eleanor and Grey knew there was something special about their teenage love. Something they wouldn't figure out until years later.
"Maybe he needed me just as much as I needed him in order to not be so broken."
That's where they find themselves as they meet again. Broken. She's the same uplifting, funny, not a care in the world girl masking her pain and he is wearing his on his sleeve for all to see. This isn't the Grey she knew years ago, but every so often she sees a little of him in there and is on a mission to get him out.
"His soul was born to be loved my mine."
The book is beautifully written and of course, a bit of a tear jerker. I may have welled up, but don't consider that crying. Along with our main characters, we are completely involved with the supporting characters as well, to round out the story. If I had one tiny complaint, it's about the ending, it felt rushed. As the most difficult part of the relationship to sort out, I would have liked to see it get a few more pages and an epilogue. That said, the book was a wonderful, standalone read.
