Insta-Love and More.
I went into Chasing Love without having read the first book in the series, and honestly, it didn’t end up being a big deal. Sure, I could tell there were a few callbacks, but nothing felt confusing or like I was missing anything essential. I was still fully able to settle in and enjoy the story on its own.
From the very beginning, Serena and West have this push-and-pull energy that’s hard to ignore. Their first meeting sets the tone perfectly—it’s not smooth sailing, and it’s definitely not simple. They’re both carrying trust issues that make things messy, but at the same time, you can feel that underlying pull between them. It’s one of those “we probably shouldn’t, but we absolutely are going to” situations, which makes their dynamic really engaging.
While I’m not usually a fan of insta-love, I was able to let that slide here since it’s a quick read. There’s a bit of predictable drama, but I appreciated that it never spirals into unnecessary chaos.
The book is well written and works as a standalone; however, it did make me want to go back and pick up the first book in the series. Kat Mizera also does a nice job with the supporting characters and setting things up for the next book.

This is Serena and West’s story. These two meet and can instantly feel the pull but past relationships have made them have trust issues. Can they figure out if they want something or because of the circumstances will they just try and fight it? Not a ton of drama really just the right about. They have things to overcome but in the end it will make for a really great future together.
I recommend this book.
