This is Vivianne and Ladd’s story. Ladd and Vivianne met in college and fell in love. He brings her home to meet his family, and she knows she wants to be a part of it. Ladds family pulls her right into the fold. With her being estranged from her family she finds a family she was missing. But she has secrets that could ruin everything. Can she truly be pulled into a life with Ladd when the secrets are choking her?

I recommend this book.

Cute Start to the Series.

In this first book, we are introduced to the entire Wilde clan, with the main focus on Ladd, the eldest Wilde son. Ladd sees Vivianne one day at college, and it’s love at first sight. The two have been inseparable ever since.

The author takes us back to the 1980s, when these two first met, and the story progresses from there. At first, I wasn’t quite sure where things were going, as the plot didn’t seem to move forward very much. However, by the end, we’re given a clear explanation of how the series will work—and I have to say, I kind of liked it.

Ladd is a true gentleman, and his family is wonderful. They run a ranch, but the parents are supportive and understanding if their sons want to pursue something different. That was certainly Ladd’s goal, as he dreams of owning his own sporting goods store. Vivianne also has plans to become a teacher, and the reason behind her decision is heartbreaking.

Vivianne does have some skeletons in her closet, and I have to say, the big reveal wasn’t as angsty as I expected. Instead, it fit the tone of the story perfectly.

Overall, the book is well written and a great start to the series. Rather than focusing on the rest of the Wilde brothers, it looks like we’ll be following the next generation instead, a neat idea!
