Great Start to the Series.
In What we Keep, Elsa returns to Alaska for a new job as a wildlife biologist, only to be greeted by a herd of goats—and a surprise tumble—on her first day back. The land she now stands on once held her home, destroyed in a wildfire years ago. Her awkward reintroduction to the area gets even more complicated when she meets Haven, her former high school crush, who is now overseeing the restoration of his family’s nearby resort, also lost in the same fire.
I liked both Elsa and Haven right away. While different, they were both looking for the same thing. While we know how it’s going to play out, the fun is in the details and the baggage with these two. The more time they spend together, the more they realize this may just work out between them.
The book is well written, and I loved that along with Haven and Elsa, we get all kinds of family and friends chiming in along the way.
