BLURB.

A year worth of flirting comes down to this kiss...

Abel

I've eaten more tacos the past year than I have my entire life. It's not because I love those little handfuls of goodness (although I do). It's because of the woman who runs the local food truck Let's Taco Bout It. Seeing her makes my day, and while I can't admit my feelings, I can at least see her smile.

Until Halloween. When a man gives her attention she doesn't want, she pretends we're together, and lays a kiss on me that I'll never forget.

Kara

I've spent the last year watching the hottie in the constantly torn and dirty jeans eating shyly walking up to my food truck and ordering the same thing each time. I've done my best to drag him out of his shell, but nothing works until a night of unwanted attention forces me to make a move.

Now? He's hanging around even more, and when his husky voice calls me his girlfriend? I melt into a puddle, and he's the only one who can pick me up and put me back together again.

Tropes Included
small town
he falls first
golden retriever boyfriend
friends to lovers

Abel is book two in The Broken Falls Series: a series of interconnected standalones following a group of friends who have become family in small-town West Virginia, and the women who bring them to their knees. You do not have to read them in order, but each book builds upon the relationships of the last.

OUR REVIEWS.

3 Stars from Renee!
⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story has laughs, secrets, a rollercoaster of emotions (mostly on his part) and love.

If you have not read the below you need to read these books(s) first.
Boone (Broken Falls #1)

This is Kara and Abel's story. You have to read the book before this to understand the beginning.  The last one really has the beginning of this story.  Had I not re-read the one before this I would not have realized that the epilogue of the last story is the beginning of this story.  I connected with Kara in this story with no problem but struggled with Abel.  I just could not understand all the emotions he was expressing.  He was at times more emotional then Kara.  But I digress the story it self was not for me but I like this author’s books so I will continue with the next set of books.  Just not really connecting with this story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Laramie Briscoe is back with the next release in her Broken Falls series and this picks up where Boone left off. Abel gives us Kara and Abel's (he's the son of our hero in book one) journey and these two rode an emotional rollcoaster (ohhhhh the feels!) for much of the book. I really liked Kara and how real she was, I clicked with her early on.. but I struggled with Abel. He tugged at my heart quite a few times but something just didn't really click with me. I guess I need my heroes to be a bit more rough around the edges and I just didn't get that with Abel at all.

This is not a standalone, kinda but not really and book one should be read prior to this (or the start might make you go wait a minute lol).. though the main characters in this beauty are not the ones from book one but so make appearances.

Laramie is a favorite, go-to author of mine and while this wasn't my favorite, it's definitely worth the read (also I liked book one, just more, and what I like will be different than the next reader).

I am excited for her future releases and to see this series progress.

I definitely can recommend this author.
