THE MRS. DEGREE by Sara Ney is LIVE!!

ABOUT THE BOOK.

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Sara Ney comes a new series about strong, single girls falling in love: accidentally.

I never thought I would get pregnant in college.

When I did, I thought leaving Jack Jennings was doing him a giant favor—he had a bright future ahead of him as a football star—the last thing he needed was me and a baby standing in his way of his dreams.

Honestly? I figured he would eventually forget about me.
I would raise our child in secret and watch Jack on television, and the pain of what I’d done to him would heal.
The last person I expected to see on my brothers doorstep seven years later was Jack; obviously, or I wouldn’t have answered it.
A superstitious athlete, dreams were keeping him awake at night that were preventing him from excelling on the field—dreams he was hoping I could make…disappear.
He looked so good. So much older.
Kind. Handsome.
Turns out, he hadn’t forgotten about me either, and he hadn’t put our past behind him.

I Knew This Would Be Good!

In the first book of the series, The Player Hater, we got a good dose of Penelope and Skipper Halbrook, sister and niece of Davis, the star of the book. This time it's Penelope's turn and we know she's got quite the secret...now it's time to put the pieces together.

As with the first book, I was an instant fan of Penelope and her daughter Skipper. Sara Ney did a great job at writing Skipper right on the edge of annoying, but keeping her funny. You can imagine that little ball of energy jumping at your feet as you read. Penelope is a single mom that relies heavily on her brother, the well to do retired professional football player. She lives right next door to him in a house he owns and he pretty much helped her raise her daughter.

I absolutely loved this family dynamic. Davis and Penelope are there for each other no matter what and he has patiently waited for Penelope to reveal who Skipper's father is. Once Jack enters the picture, the wait is over. Not to sound like a broken record, but I instantly liked Jack too! There was something about these characters that clicked all the way around. Sure it was going to be a difficult road ahead with the past hanging around thier necks, you could only hang on and hope for the best.

As with all of the Sara Ney books I have read in the past, The Mrs. Degree is well written with the perfect balance of sexy and funny. The angst level with Jack and Penelope was slight, however the depth of the characters made up for that in my eyes. The book reads as a standalone, but is more fun read in order. Elias is up next and I can't wait to see him get p-whipped!

If you have not read the below, I would recommend reading those books(s) first:
The Player Hater (Accidentally in Love #1)

This is Penelope and Jack’s story. Penelope is a single mother to a cute little beauty. When Jack comes to town, she has to let out all the secrets. This is a second chance romance that packs in all the feels. Harper the little cutie pulls Jack right in and steals the show. Can these two get over the secrets and build something together?

I highly recommend this book.

Sara Ney is back with a brand new standalone romance and y'all, this might just have been topped up as my new favorite by her. Crazy good and packed with everything that I love and appreciate in romance... this was an absolute must read for me.

The Mrs. Degree (cute title and cover right?!) was so much more, so much deeper than that blurb let on for this beauty. Penelope and Jack filled the pages with light angst, some heat, loads of heart, and sooooo many different - up and down emotions.

I devoured their journey, this book whole and gahhhhh it's just... my heart. *sigh* Aaaaand that adorable little girl will totally steal your heart like she did with everyone else on the pages.

Sara is always a hit with me. The slow-burn, all in your feels, can't turn the pages fast enough romances she creates are everything in all the moments. Plus her relatable characters? Unforgettable in every way.

I highly recommend this book.
