TITLE: Crossing The Line
AUTHOR: Jessica Prince
SERIES: Whitecap #1
GENRE/TROPE: Contemporary Romance; Small Town Romance; Single Mom Romance
Some lines are meant to be crossed.
Trent Montgomery knew all about loyalty and responsibility. Tracking down his friend’s long-lost sister and making sure she was safe was just another job, a favor from someone he cared about. He wasn’t supposed to get attached. But when he started to fall for the woman who had been hiding from the world, things got a lot more complicated than he ever expected.
Cheyanne Knightly knew all about living in fear. The life she’d made for her and her daughter was as stable as a house of cards. One stiff breeze could send her whole world crumbling. But when a new guy blew into her small town, stirring up Whitecap’s rumor mill, she found herself drawn to him in a way she never expected.
Lies were told. Secrets were uncovered. Lines were crossed. When the truth finally came out, Trent had to find a way to protect the woman who stole his heart while he tried to earn her trust back.

“Monica said the dude was ogling you like you were a three-course meal and he hadn’t eaten in a month.”
“Like I said, she exaggerated.”
Right?
Nope, I silently screamed to myself. I wasn’t going to start questioning it because it didn’t matter. Not at all.
She looked at me, her expression pinched with skepticism. “Was she also exaggerating when she said she thought you’d stroked out for a minute and lost the power of speech when he came up and introduced himself to you?”
I snorted and took a gulp of my margarita, smiling as I admitted, “No, she might have been spot-on with that one.”
Luna’s head fell back on a laugh. “At least you’re willing to own it.”
“It’s not my fault! There isn’t a woman on the planet who could help it,” I exclaimed. “I mean, the dude had dimples, for Christ’s sake. Dimples.”

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, secrets, abuse, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first:
Out of My League (Hope Valley #1)
Come Back Home Again (Hope Valley #2)
The Best of Me (Hope Valley #3)
Wrong Side of the Tracks (Hope Valley #4)
Stay With Me (Hope Valley #5)
Out of the Darkness (Hope Valley Book 6)
The Second Time Around (Hope Valley #7)
Waiting for Forever (Hope Valley #8)
Love to Hate You (Hope Valley #9)
Playing for Keeps (Hope Valley Book 10)
The most important one is Playing for keeps as this book is the sister in that book.
This is Cheyanne (Sawyer) and Trent‘s story. Sawyer is hiding out in this small town after running from her abusive husband. She changed her name is hopes that he will never find her. She is raising her daughter and trying to stay under the radar. Trent is a new person in town her friends are pushing her to date. As she was the only person, he showed an interest in. But they are both holding a ton of secrets. As they spend time together, they fall hard and fast. Secrets have a way of coming out and when they do could mean the end of everything. When the past comes for her will she be ready? Or will she lose everything?
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Jessica Prince has a brand new series, another spin off of sorts and y'all, what. a. book. This is exactly why I read and adore this author. She's an expert at small town romances that are packed with all the heart, all the heat, all the complicated drama, and all of those pesky feels. The Whitecap series started out with a serious bang with this new release and I'm so excited to see it progress in the future.
Crossing the Line is the first standalone in the Whitecap series, giving us Trent and Sawyer's (*Cheyanne*) story and y'all, this is one you won't soon forget. I devoured this beauty whole and ate up every single moment these two were on the page together. Packed with some angst, suspense, steam, and loads of emotions... Crossing the Line is everything in all the best ways.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with a Jessica Prince book. She's an auto buy author for me. She's a going in blind mind of author and still giving it five stars every single time. She's a top five overall author for me and again, books like this are EXACTLY why. I simply can't wait for her next release.
I highly recommend this book.
Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
