BLURB.

Innocent. Blameless. Pure. Heartbroken. Josie Vos belonged to the one family I hated more than anything.

And I had forced her to despise me just as much.

It didn’t matter that I had lost track of my plan and fallen for my enemy.

Irrevocably hurt and enraged by my deceit, she had no intentions of doing anything but watching me lose my throne.

The secrets of our families can never be forgotten.

I knew that from the beginning, but I refuse to allow the sins of our families to determine our future.

I should have left her alone and let her hate me.
I didn’t.

I was going to fight for her, even if she now held all the power.

The Beck and Josie Roller Coaster Continues!!

In this second installment of The Boys of Clermont Bay, Holly Renee picks up right where we left off, with Beck showing Josie who he really was, or who she thought he was from the moment she met him. This review may contain spoilers for the first book.

The blurb for the book says it all, Josie now holds all of the power, however it's something she doesn't realize because of course she doesn't trust Back as far as she can throw him. Right before her eyes, he turned into the exact person he said he hated, her brother Lucas. It was frustrating knowing that Josie had the upper hand and she just wasn't as vindictive as these Clermont kids and keeps giving them all the benefit of the doubt.

"I wanted to be with Josie Vox regardless of who her family was, and I would do whatever it took to get her back."

Beck was on a mission. One to prove he isn't the POS that her brother is. Sure the video was out there, Beck released it, however there was much more to the story and I knew it was going to be juicy once we got all of the details. These rich people like nothing more than to tear each other down.

"I could no longer see that he was the villain and I was his prey."

He's smooth and we knew that from the first book. Beck get what he wants and right now, that is Josie. Sure she may have entertained him a lot quicker than I would have, but she definitely didn't make it easy and this humbled Beck was even more likeable.

The book is well written and read like a tennis match, back and forth, back and forth. I will admit to wanting it to move on a little faster, however it was a good read. While we all kind of know how it is going to end, it was a mighty road to the finish line. At one point I didn't think there was going to be a finish line. Along with Back and Josie, all of the friends and family are present and accounted for, with Allie and Frankie commanding more of the spotlight this time around. Holly Renee did great job with these first two books, so I'll be back to Clermont Bay when the next one is ready.
