This is Joy and Burk’s story. These two have history. They were best friends until he up and moved away. Now he is back in town but it’s all temporary. Can she be friends again but guard her heart this time? He’s back in town after 14 years to help out with the family business but he is going back home as soon as he can. That is until he starts spending time with Joy. Then he wonders what will happen if he stays. Can he stay?

I recommend this book.

Lacey Black has a brand new book out y'all, and it is perfect for the holiday season! Merry Little Sugar Rush was such a sweet and swoony story that had me reading until the pages quit turning. Joy and Burke were really good, and their journey was exactly what I'd want in a holiday romance. This is the perfect one to cozy up by the fire. Welcome back to Snowflake Falls.

I can definitely recommend this cute holiday romance!

Hilariously Sweet Christmas Read

The blurb says, “Cue the holiday chaos” which is putting it mildly! In this second installment of the How My Neighbor Stole Christmas series, the spotlight is on Atlas and Betty. I already knew I was going to love Atlas after meeting him in Cole’s story in book one. He’s a Jason Orson-type: a big, lovable lug with sharp one-liners and a heart of gold. He’s fun, a little hung up on his family dynamics, and in need of a woman who’s just as quirky. Enter Betty, who absolutely fits the bill.

We’re back in Kringletown to follow Atlas on his journey to love. Speaking of love, I absolutely adore this town, or at least the way it’s described. Personally, it’s more of a “fun to visit” kind of place (I don’t think I could survive non-stop Christmas carols), but it suits these characters perfectly. Atlas is Kringletown-born and raised, while Betty ends up there after a small business mishap in Fort Collins. She’s staying with her Uncle Dewight, a less-than-beloved Kringle resident, unlike the well-loved Atlas.

Betty and Atlas have the best meet-cute, and it’s a wild ride from there. I fell for both characters instantly, they're the perfect match. The entire time I was on edge, wondering how it would all fall apart (because let’s face it, that’s what authors love to do to us readers). While some plot points were slightly predictable, I was still satisfied with how everything played out, especially as it built toward the epilogue. Both characters had emotional baggage to unpack before they could get their happy ending, which made the resolution feel earned.

The book is well-written and absolutely hilarious. I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn, and this holiday gem pulled me right out of a reading slump, even if it is only October! The entire town and all the quirky family members are involved in Atlas and Betty’s relationship, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal works well as a standalone, but it’s so much more fun when read in order.
