Coke Solomon has lived a full life.
He’s a retired army drill sergeant, so he is more than used to getting his way.
And if he can’t have it his way? Well, let’s just say that’s never happened before…
At least not until Cora Maldonado walks into his life, demanding he fall in line, or she’ll find a way to make his life hell.
He finds out fast that Cora marches to the beat of her own drum, and a lot of times that drum takes her farther away rather than closer to where he feels she needs to be.
He can’t stand it.
He wants her, and he has to have her.
It doesn’t matter that she’s twenty years younger than him, and has a father that would rather see him dead than have his baby girl anywhere near him. Nor does it matter that his ex-wife is highly offended that she’s been replaced with a much younger woman.
Despite the odds stacking against them, he’ll fight for what he wants.
His ex-wife, her father, and their age difference be damned.

4.5 Stars from Renee!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, suspense, kidnapping, secrets, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first:

Kinda Don’t Care (Simple Man #1)
Maybe Don't Wanna (Simple Man #2)
Get You Some (Simple Man #3)

This is Cora and Coke’s story. Coke and Cora are neighbors. He keeps her up night after night working on cars, so she goes over and asks him to stop. The chemistry is off the charts with these two, but he is twenty years older then her. They have to deal with lot if they want to try and be together. He has a crazy ex and a daughter that is not much younger then Cora. Cora can take care of herself he finds out when she is taken. He also meets her family. But someone is still out to get Cora. Can they figure out who that is before Cora is hurt more? Coke never really had a lot of happy in his life and when he figures out that Cora makes him happy he knows he will fight with everything he has in order to have her. But with the danger around them someone does not want them to be together. Can they handle all the danger? Or will they lose each other to that danger?

I loved these characters and the side characters. We got to meet Coke’s brothers. Can’t wait to see if they get their own books. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. Love with any book or series you pick up you get a glimpse of another set of characters in another series. All of the books tie into each other with the characters overlapping. Makes you want to go back and re-read the series over and over.

I highly recommend this book or really let’s be honest any book this author has written.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
