Not for Me

While I'm all for a good, angsty suspense story, something about Hell Upside Down turned me off quickly. Not sure if it was the insta-lust (if you can call it that), or the d-bag leading man, either way I kept reading with a chip on my shoulder towards the book.

Scarlett's story was like many others I'm sure, looking for any way to get out of the small dead end town that she lived in. Her home life was crap and she didn't get to follow her educational path in life due to unfortunate circumstances. Now she's stuck as a waitress at crab shack with no hope in sight, until the handsome stranger walks in.

Now this guy was a grade A a$$hole from the get go. A complete turn off, however for somebody looking for a change of lifestyle, I guess I could see his charm through thier eyes. Hugh Cruz was the obvious rich dude in this poor fishing town and after demanding a dinner with Scarlett, he had her hook, line and sinker.

Scarlett quickly realizes that life on the other side isn't all it's cracked up to be and the only way out for her, is going to be in a body bag. This goes on for quite a few chapters and it was one of those "unless it happens to you" type of things I couldn't wrap my head around.

The book was well written, however long in the middle and the whole plot explained at the end in a few pages. I didn't connect with the characters right off the bat and that's on me.

I'm a new erotic romance author with two books currently out. Loving the Senator and The Ambassador and Me. Both were Amazons Hot New Release and Bestsellers. Soon to release on November 3rd Paris, The Ambassador and Me the second in the Trilogy. On November 27th, I will be releasing Loving The Candidate the Second in the Capital Affairs series. Around Christmas I plan to release a very emotional book called Just Breathe Again.
I've been writing since I was seven when I won my first essay contest in our state. From then on I wrote as much as possible. It wasn't until four years ago when I decided to write what I loved to read, erotic romances. Back in the day I would steal my moms Jackie Collins books and read them repeatedly tucked in between my Little House in the Prairie books and late at night with a flashlight under the covers. It never hit me to actually write romances until I spent a few days in New York went to Central Park with my laptop. I closed my eyes while I typed my first sex scene (it really helped) and I haven't looked back.
When I'm not writing I hike, cook and spend time with my family. I have two daughters and two dachshund's.
