3.5 Stars from Tiffany!

Reminiscent of Dexter

As a huge fan of the television series, Dexter, I think V.F. Mason may have followed that story line too closely for this book to feel original. The way the psychopath chose his victims, the reason he chose them and who he actually was, all seemed to come from the show. If the author hasn't seen Dexter, then I apologize.

Ella has been through hell in the past and is now looking for redemption through others. She has molded her life to catch serial killer scumbags of the world. It was a risky job for a person with her past, however it was one Ella felt she had to do.

Finally getting into the FBI, Ella settles into her dream job, which instantly starts bringing up everything she's been trying to move on from. With a new serial killer right under her nose, the flashbacks are coming fast and furious. As she starts to fit in with her team, things go from bad to worse for her.

The book is well written, however not one that I could really sink my teeth into for some reason. Not to harp, but the Dexter thing hung over the story like a black cloud, I couldn't move past that.

V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen. Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it. When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors. Connect with V.F.!
