Fighter is an Enforcer for the Devil’s Wind MC. His job is to take care of the prospects, make sure things run smoothly and kick some ass if it doesn’t. His life consists of his club, his bike, his brothers, and more than his fair share of pussy. The last thing he needs is his little sister and her best friend showing up at the clubhouse, ragged, beaten and looking to him to sort out their mess.
Tish and Jiji have been best friends since the day they met. When fate steps in and forces them to run for their lives, the safest place possible is with Jiji’s brother, Fighter. Fighter doesn’t do relationships but his sisters best friend is no longer the little girl he once knew. She’s all grown up and has him wanting to stake his claim. Tish has risked her life to save Jiji and now Fighter must return the favor.
What the fuck is Jiji doing here? Why would she come here now, bigger question why would she bring Tish. If they thought for one second they were going to take a walk on the wild side with some bikers they were seriously mistaken. I would paddle both their asses then send them on their way home. Cutting through the clubhouse I made it to the front door when Dukes called out to me. Veering to my left I walked up to the bar. Where you going in such a hurry he asked. Danko tipped his beer, to his mouth, swallowed then snickered “must be some new pussy he’s after.” When it didn’t get a rise out of me, or a smile, Danko’s face changed, “Hey bro whats up?” he asked “I dunno Danko”, “Murph called from the gate, he said Jiji and Tish are here.” Dukes looked confused. “Jiji your baby sister?” “Yeah man with her best friend Tish DeMarco”. “What’s up with that Fighter?” “I know you’ve warned her not to come around the club.” “I don’t know Dukes, but something ain’t right. Murph said I needed to get down there now.” Dukes lifted his chin, “Right behind you Fighter.” He dropped his beer on the bar, he and Danko flanked me as we walked out of the clubhouse. I saw Murph, our prospect checking cars at the gate. Parked in the lot next to our bikes was a green chevy nova. Heading that way I saw Jiji sitting in the passenger seat. Walking up to the window, I knocked, she turned her head. A smile broke over her face, she unlocked the door and jumped out. She threw her arms around me “Jameson she yelled” squeezing my waist crying into my leather. Murph came running over from the gate, “I told you Fighter, you needed to get down here” he said. Tish got out of the other side, slowly she came around the trunk of the car. Her face was in shadows until she rounded the car to stand by the open door. I heard Dukes drawn in a breath and Danko mutter “oh shit” then I saw Tish. Her face was beaten, one eye closed, blood still caked in her hair. She was holding her left arm close to her body like it hurt leaning against the car door for support. I put Jiji down “what the fuck happened Tish. She seemed to shrink even further into herself. “Woah girl, it’s ok, I’m not yelling at you, relax babe, I got you. She looked up a me, a single tear tracking down her battered face I passed Jiji off to Danko, moving slowly towards Tish, she backed up against the car door trying to hide behind it, she was scared out of her mind. “Shhh babe I’m not gonna hurt you I cooed!” “Me and the boys just want to get you inside so we can see what’s wrong.” She looked into my eyes for a second then asked “are we safe here”. “Jiji is hurt” “We need help” “Who did this to you Tish? Talk to me babe, what the fuck happened?”

As a huge fan of the MC genre, Fighter's Claim was a good start for D.D. Galvani. She seemed to know what she wanted out of her characters and dipped her toe in the to angst pool just a bit. Now for her second book, she needs to jump in all of the way!
Right off the bat I was stilted by the writing. It is very stiff and proper, lots of over using of first names that reminded me of those old Dick and Jane books my mom collected. The conversations didn't flow naturally, they were told to you. I appreciate an author that writes as if they were talking, using contractions and some he, she pronouns every now and then. That said, I did like the characters and the story line.
Tish and her friend Jiji find themselves escaping from the worst situation imaginable and into the arms of Jiji's brother Fighter's MC club. He's the only family Jiji has left and the love of Tish's life, although he doesn't know that. The girls arrive on the MC doorstep with tons of baggage to complicate things for the boys.
Fighter is the typical, run of the mill biker in books, loves his drink, his women and his club. Sure he loves his sister, but hasn't seen her in a while. Her hot friend Tish is always in the back of his mind after talking to her for years, but he knows he'll never be good enough for her.
Tish and Jiji are in tough shape when they show up at the MC and instantly complicate things in the club. This is where D.D. Galvani could have amped up the angst with the club girls and other brothers. Instead, everything was pretty smooth sailing and predicable with the entire situation.
The book is well written and like I said, predictable. There are some interesting characters here and I hope in the next Devil's Wind adventure, these boys can get down and dirty a little more.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, and heartbreak.
This is Tish and Fighter’s story. Tish is fighter’s sister’s best friend. He has known her for years but when he sees her again all beaten and broken he wonders if he knows that girl anymore. They came to him for protection, but he wants to claim Tish. Can he protect her with his club and claim her or is he about to lose her forever? Fighter has never been a relationship kind of guy but Tish has him rethinking all his old thoughts on forever. Will he get a chance to claim her before he loses her or will she be lose to him forever?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book.

D.D. Galvani is brand new to me and the writing scene if I'm remembering correctly but nonetheless Galvani did a really good job with this sexy, fast-paced, fun mc romance. Fighter's Claim, book one in the Devil's Wind MC series, was kick ass standalone novel and has set up what looks to be a pretty amazing series.
She's in trouble and now she's running to him, and he's gonna be the one to save her... claim her m But Fighter presents his own dangers... of stealing her heart.
Fighter's Claim was exactly how I like my romances of this sort and the best friend's older brother trope was a nice surprise. The writing was addicting and the romance undeniable. Fighter and Tish gave me a lot of feels in such a good way, with an edge of suspense that kept me on my toes. I loved getting lost in the pages of their journey.
I really hope Jiji and Breech are up next...that out to be a good one.
I recommend this book.
D.D. Galvani was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She moved to Florida in 2002 and lives there today with her husband of 37 years. She has two children and one beloved grand daughter whom she spoils as much as she can. She is an avid reader and crafter and decided to put those two loves together and Swag by NaNa was born. After working around author’s for a few years, she asked a couple to look at a story she had written and was blown away that they liked it. They pushed her to finish it and her first novel Fighter’s Claim, an MC romance came to be. She writes strong alpha males and sassy intelligent women. Welcome to her world!
