A killer . . . that’s what I am.
It’s what I do.
It’s what I live for.
I’m no longer the Preston Hale everyone knew. I left that life and the people in it a long time ago the second I made my first kill. I wasn’t going to give in, but when I heard the screams there was no going back.
It triggered the pain, the need.
I knew what I had to do, and I did it well. But I never expected for Emma Turner – the only link to my past – to come back into my life.
She triggers a different emotion inside me, something I hadn’t ever felt.
It’s not a want to kill . . . but a need to CLAIM.

"From the first page to the last, this book had me holding my breath. Fast-paced, sexy, and addicting, Trigger is bound to be one of my top reads all year." ~ New York Times Bestselling Author, Emily Goodwin

"Exhilarating and pulse-pounding. Trigger is a non-stop roller coaster ride from beginning to end." ~ Author of the Light in the Dark Series, Micalea Smeltzer

4.5 Stars!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has suspense, murder, laughs, secrets, pain, and heartbreak.

This is Emma and Preston‘s story. Emma and Preston have not seen each other for 8 years. When she meets him again he acts like he does not know or remember her. Preston remembers her but can’t deal with knowing her right now. When he is asked to take care of her and protect her he does but what will come out of it? A killer is on the loose and he does not want her to get hurt but can he really protect her? He has his own issues. What will happen when his secrets come out will she ever see him the same way again? Or will she run from him into the killer’s hands?

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

4.5 Stars!

L.P. Dover is back on the scene with her latest romantic suspense standalone that captivated me from the start and hooked it claws into me until those pages, sadly, quit turning. This author is fantastic, always promising me a twisted journey full of ups, downs and everything in between query happy endings that drama are made of.

Trigger was a sexy, intense, passionate, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat second chance romance that took my heart by storm and led me on a roller coaster ride that I definitely did not see coming. This book was so unexpected and brilliantly written in every single way, I'm still in bliss from reading those words.

Emma and Preston.... man did I root for these two hard, racing through those pages, desperate to get their story. And the particular gem in Trigger.... Preston, sigh, utter (almost) perfection. I fell hard and fast for him.... an angel of good and evil, dark and sweet. Everything about him screamed at me and pulled me in. And the perfect light to his dark.... Emma.

Their story and path wasn't easy but nothing worth having usually is.

I highly recommend this book.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author L. P. Dover is a southern belle living in North Carolina with her husband and two beautiful girls. Before she began her literary journey she worked in periodontics, enjoying the wonderment of dental surgeries.

She loves to write, but she also loves to play tennis, go on mountain hikes and white water rafting, and has a passion for singing. Her two youngest fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime, usually Christmas carols. Dover has written countless novels, including her Forever Fae series, the Second Chances series, the Gloves Off series, the Armed & Dangerous series, the Royal Shifters series, and her standalone novel Love, Lies, and Deception. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense, but if she got to choose a setting in which to live, it would be with her faeries in the Land of the Fae.
