5 Stars!

This Book Should be a Movie!

Bravo Meghan Quinn for such a fabulous, heartbreaking and heartwarming book. After reading the blurb, I instantly wanted to read Dear Life. Such an interesting concept and Meghan Quinn did a beautiful job at balancing heavy with humor.

"It’s funny, when one door closes, there really is another door open, ready and waiting for you."

We meet the four main characters in the book at certain turning points in thier lives. While each has a different story, they are all pretty much looking for the same thing. To move forward. Wether it's from a tragic loss, overcoming a rough childhood or experiencing what life has to offer, these guys need help getting to that next step. Enter the Dear Life program.

Dear Life-
"Your actions make me cry. Your plans tear me apart. Your involvement in my sanity is eating me alive."

As we read on, we learn more and more about how these characters came to be and how hard it will be for the change that is needed. While the set up is obvious, the road to get there is an emotional one. There are so many variables to each story, it was hard to imagine it coming together.

"I can’t move forward when I’m surrounded by my past."

Honestly, that statement covers each character's situation. The book is very well written and I absolutely loved it. If I had one tiny complaint, it was the grandma using the pet name Dearie for her granddaughter. Petty I know, but this really rubbed me the wrong way and seemed to make the grandma cheesy in my mind.

Written from four points of view, each character gets a chapter to tell their story as well as a letter to life, which was my favorite part. Great book!

A BLONDE AT HEART Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
